The Karen Possehl Women's Endowment (KPWE) Scholarship program provides crucial financial aid and mentorship to post traditional UCCS students who are embarking on or resuming their educational journeys after overcoming significant personal challenges. Established in 1996 and endowed in 1998 by Karen and Jim Possehl, this powerful mission thrives thanks to the unwavering support of hundreds of community members.

  • Tuition assistance to alleviate financial burdens

  • Community mentors who inspire, encourage, and connect scholars with professional networks

  • Career-focused workshops that empower students with knowledge beyond the classroom

  • Childcare stipends available to ease financial strain for scholars

  • Comprehensive support for 26-30 scholars annually

  • $6,000 in financial awards per scholar, each year

  • A dedicated 1:1 scholar-to-mentor ratio

 

KPWE proudly celebrates the achievements of over 239 scholars since its inception, boasting an impressive undergraduate graduation rate of 95.11%.
